Electronics Specialist

Job Description

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Electronics Specialist at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital (please visit http://www.wcgrh.org/ for more information about the hospital).

 

 

Provide electronic support and technical assistance to an agency. Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production electronic components. Apply principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing.

 

 

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

 

  • Assemble, test and maintain circuitry or electronic components
  • Develops and conducts appropriate training programs for technical equipment users
  • Develops or modifies electronic and technical equipment/applications
  • Fabricates audio and visual applications for use in specialized operations
  • Installs and maintains electronic equipment
  • May train users on electronic equipment
  • Participates in analyzing and forecasting electronic and technical needs
  • Produce reports concerning electronic equipment inventory and equipment status
  • Provide technical aides, user applications and engineering support on equipment
  • Test electronics units, using standard test equipment, and analyze results
  • Utilizes diagnostic tools to resolve equipment malfunctions and technical problems
  • Work with manufacturers to procure replacement mal-functioning circuitry and electronics component

 

Qualifications

Completion of a bachelor's degree AND One year of experience in the installation, repair, and development of equipment

 

OR

 

Completion of a technical/school program in electronics or in a specialized related area

 

Note: Some positions require a valid driver's license

 

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates, who in addition to meeting the above qualifications also meet the following:  Two or more years experience in electronics or low voltage electrical equipment.

Employment Information

This position is located at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus, Georgia.

Columbus, Georgia is an authentic Rivertown. The gently rolling waters of the Chattahoochee have provided food, energy, employment, and recreation for the citizens of Columbus throughout the years.

Today, the river is home to the 12-mile path known as the Chattahoochee Riverwalk. The Riverwalk provides an excellent facility to bike, in-line skate, jog, or just take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the scenery. The river is also home to the Chattahoochee Princess Riverboat, an authentic 1880's era paddlewheel riverboat, and the Coca-Cola Space Science Center, the first in Georgia and one of only 32 in the United States.
