Nurse (Inpatient), RN

Job Description

Assess client health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records.   Administer nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled clients.  May advise clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management.

Qualifications

A current Georgia license to practice as a registered professional nurse.  *Must obtain SAFETY CARE certification by completion of new employee orientation, and must maintain this certification as a term and condition of employment.

Allen Hall

Experience working with developmentally disabled clients

Craig Center

Experience working with pediatric to geriatric clients requiring skilled nursing care.

Cook Building

Experience working in a psychiatric setting with adult clients. Experience working in a maximum security adult forensic setting.

Phoenix Center

Experience working with developmentally disabled clients with significant aggressive behavior.

Central Care

Experience working with developmentally disabled and mentally ill clients.

Boland Complex

Experience working with adult to geriatric mentally retarded clients.

Employment Information

This position is located at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Central State Hospital was founded in 1842 and was Georgia's first psychiatric hospital. Its purpose was to provide a safe and humane place for the mentally ill and mentally retarded.

The medical complex encompasses about 1,000 acres. The hospital, a middle Georgia mental health/developmental disabilities/ substance abuse facility, serves 23 counties in middle Georgia and has specialty programs serving citizens from the entire state of Georgia. Central State Hospital is accredited by JCAHO and certified by Medicare.

Milledgeville is located in historic central Georgia only 95 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta.

Milledgeville, the 4th capital of Georgia, is one of only two planned capital cities in the United States - the other being Washington, DC.
