Job Description

Care for ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled persons.

 

7am - 3pm

3pm - 11pm

11pm - 7am

Qualifications

A Current Georgia license to practice as a licensed practical nurse. 

*Must obtain SAFETY CARE certification by completion of new employee orientation, and must maintain this certification as a term and condition of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications by Area:

Allen Hall

Experience working with adult to geriatric mentally retarded clients  and admissions

Pecan Manor

Experience working with adult to geriatric mentally retarded clients.

Craig Center

Experience working with pediatric to geriatric clients requiring skilled nursing care.

Cook 

Experience working with adult psychiatric clients in a maximum security setting.

Piedmont Hall

Experience working with adult to geriatric mentally retarded clients.

Phoenix Center

 

Experience working with developmentally disabled clients who are behaviorally challenged and admissions

Employment Information

This position is located at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Central State Hospital was founded in 1842 and was Georgia's first psychiatric hospital. Its purpose was to provide a safe and humane place for the mentally ill and mentally retarded.

The medical complex encompasses about 1,000 acres. The hospital, a middle Georgia mental health/developmental disabilities/ substance abuse facility, serves 23 counties in middle Georgia and has specialty programs serving citizens from the entire state of Georgia. Central State Hospital is accredited by JCAHO and certified by Medicare.

Milledgeville is located in historic central Georgia only 95 miles southeast of downtown Atlanta.

Milledgeville, the 4th capital of Georgia, is one of only two planned capital cities in the United States - the other being Washington, DC.
