The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Housekeeper - Hourly at East Central Regional Hospital, located in Augusta, GA.
This is an hourly, part-time position with no benefits.
Job Description:
- Performs any combination of duties to maintain order, sanitation, and cleanliness in facilities.
- Maintains supplies as needed.
- This is the entry/training level of the Housekeeping job series.
- Incumbents at this level may require additional training or experience to gain full proficiency in some or all of the job responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
- Cleans and straightens assigned areas
- Collects, sorts, launders, transports and distributes linens and uniforms
- May mend linens and assist in preventative maintenance and repair
- Observes required safety precautions in disposing of contaminated refuse
- Operates hand tools
- Participates in making, marking, altering and mending of clothing, linens, and other items
Sample Technical Competencies:
- Ability to clean assigned areas according to established procedures
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures
- Knowledge of the laundry processes and equipment
- Ability to maintain and operate equipment properly
- Ability to choose and use appropriate cleaning agents

Any combination of training and experience that would have enabled the applicant to have acquired the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities

Preference will be given to those who, in addition to meeting the above qualifications, also possess the following:
- 6 month of experience as a housekeeper/janitor in a commercial, industrial or health care setting
- High school diploma
