Job Description

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Lifeguard at East Central Regional Hospital located n Augusta, GA.

Job Description:

To ensure the safety of individuals by preventing and/or responding to emergencies when they are at the hospital swimming pool, lake property or other areas involving bodies of water.

 Technical Competencies:

  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Skills in the application of life guarding surveillance and rescue techniques
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical skills evaluation as stipulated by the department
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork
  • Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures

 

Positions available on the following units:

Adult Mental Health

Forensic Unit

General Mental Health (2 positions)

 

Qualifications

 

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to those who, in addition to meeting the above qualifications, also possess the following:

  • 6 months to 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • CPR Certified
  • Current certification as a Lifeguard by a recognized source of training
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or more

 

Benefits

/ hour. This is an hourly position with no benefits associated.
