The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking qualified candidates for Health Aide -Advanced Level (Psycho-Social Rehabilitation) at Southwestern State Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia

Provide basic patient care and work with patients/clients to develop daily living skills, improve recovery through education. Staff will take part in multiple activities by leading educational groups, or co-facilitating groups with a leader. Modeling appropriate behavior and following suggested practices of individualized recovery plan to promote recovery of individual through counseling and support.

 Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

 ·          Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision

 ·          Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas

 ·          May supervise and/or direct the work of others

 ·          Assists in administration of recommended therapeutic treatment as identified on                            individualized recovery plan

 ·          Conducts activities for recreation and socialization

 ·          Ensures safety and security of clients

 ·          Implements assigned parts of client individualized treatment and behavior management plans

 ·          Observes and documents patient data, behavior and activity in electronic medical record

 ·          Provides clients with transportation, leadership, education on daily needs in group, in token 

       economy, in vocational rehabilitation

High School Diploma or GED and One year of experience in a related field OR One year of experience at the lower level or position equivalent

Travel Required - Must have:

·       Valid Georgia driver's license

·       Acceptable MVR record and

·       Meet the requirements for operating a state-owned vehicle: must be 21 years of age and have a minimum of 3 years driving experience.

·          Experience with electronic medical record

·          Basic knowledge of Person Centered Therapy

·          Teaching experience
