The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Patient Accounts Technician at Georgia Regional Hospital At Savannah (please visit www.garegionalsavannah.com for more information about the hospital).
This position is responsible for the processing and collection of financial information, to include identifying clients with Health Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and/or third party coverage for the Adult Mental Health Units and the Forensic Units at the Hospital. Additionally, this position is responsible for setting up subscriber coverage and entering subscriber information into the AVATAR system. This position will be interfacing with other State hospitals as needed for weekly billing processing. Will oversee quarterly APS audits to ensure that all billing is being completed correctly and in a timely manner. This position is responsible for checking Medicaid and Medicare systems for coverage on all consumers. This position is responsible for compile and posting, as well as room and board charges for our consumers/individuals
High School Diploma or GED AND Two years of customer service experience in an office environment
In addition to Two years Customer Service Experience, preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience with Medicare, Medicaid or Hospital Billing. Must be able to interview consumers to obtain Medical coverage. Computer Knowledge and Excel worksheet a must.
