Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Procurement Assistant. This position will work the 8:00a-5:00p shift.

Job Description:

Provides procurement assistance in the purchasing office. Assist in the purchase of equipment, services and supplies. Process and assist in the issue of purchase orders, prepare and process requisitions, and pay bills in a timely manner. Perform various clerical duties as needed.

Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:

1. Process and assist in issuing Purchase Orders 2. Checks purchase orders for accuracy, completeness, and clarity 3. Collects bids 4. Coordinates the approval and payment of invoices and other services 5. Coordinates the purchase of equipment, services and supplies from established vendors 6. Performs various clerical support duties. 7. Maintains inventory control and maintains inventory control records 8. Maintain Vendor files 9. Assist vendors with billings and equipment problems 10. Reviews requisitions to verify if merchandise is contracted



Two years of experience in materials management OR One year of experience in a position equivalent to the lower level OR Associate degree from an accredited college or university

Preferred Qualifications

At least two years of Purchasing experience as described in Job Responsibilities and clerical support. Inventory and PeopleSoft knowledge a plus but not required.
