Release of Information Coordinator
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Release of Information Coordinator in the Health Information Management Department at Georgia Regional Hospital At Savannah (please visit www.garegionalsavannah.com for more information about the hospital).

Performs a variety clerical functions/processes for the Health Information Department. Responsible for requests received in the Health Information Department for records from other hospital departments, physician offices, personnel, external requestors such as patients and attorneys, etc. Ensure that client requests are addressed utilizing excellent customer service skills. Prepare records for peer reviews and have great attention to details and be able to multitask. Take and transcribe minutes for the Information Management and Record of Care Committee.
High school diploma or GED and two years of related experience OR One year at the lower level or at an equivalent position OR Two years of college or Associate degree.
One year experience as a Release of Information Coordinator/extensive knowledge of HIPAA confidentiality laws and State laws in releasing Protected Health Information (PHI), excellent communication skills and must be able to follow hospital policies and procedures. Must have good organizational skills and ability to prioritize and reprioritize. PC knowledge and ability to navigate in a windows environment.
