Job Description:

Plans, directs, or coordinates activities of an organization or department that serves food and beverages. Coordinates the preparation of food for institutions, schools, hospitals, lodges, or cafeterias. Ensures adequate inventory of food and related supplies. Supervisors and plans work of assigned staff. Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards: 1. Supervises and plans work of assigned staff 2. Apportions and serves food to facility residents, employees and patrons 3. Coordinate and oversee culinary/banquet needs 4. Estimates amount and costs of required supplies, such as food and ingredients 5. Implements the management of the food and supply purchase, delivery, storage and issue system 6. Keeps records required by government agencies regarding sanitation and food subsidies when appropriate 7. Manages all food production and service activities 8. Monitors compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance in lodging and dining facilities 9. Monitors compliance with safety, sanitation and health rules and standards 10. Monitors food preparation methods, portion sizes, garnishing, presentation and display of food 11. Oversees quality control of all aspects of food service by conducting inspections for adherence to established guidelines 12. Performs facility sanitation inspections 13. Provides input for the development of food service operations policies and procedures 14. Schedules and receives food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents in order to verify product quantity and quality 15. Trains and directs staff and temporary workers in proper techniques of food preparation

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED AND Three years of supervisory experience in a food service operation at the level of a shift supervisor OR One year of experience at the lower level (FFT012)

Preferred Qualifications

At least One year of experience in a comprehensive food service operation in a capacity that involved formal supervision of workers engaged in various phases of food preparation, food service, and food sanitation. Must have cooking skills and experience as well as experience managing cook processes. Must have a Valid GA Driver's License per the Driver's Policy and meet the requirements to drive a State-owned vehicle, including having a clear MVR Driving Record and being at least 21 years of age with at least 3 years driving experience. ServSafe Certification a plus but not required. Computer skills a must.
