The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Social Work Chief with the Programs Department, Georgia Regional Hospital At Savannah (please visit www.garegionalsavannah.com for more information about the hospital).

Job Description:

This position will be held by a Senior Clinical Social Worker who will be assisting the Social Work Chief in managing Social Services, focusing on quality management and staff performance. Will assume responsibility when the Social Work Chief is not on the facility. Will perform monthly monitoring of a fixed sample of all psychosocial and Repeat Admissions Review (RAR) assessments as well as Social Services documentation per established statewide guidelines. Will perform data-based mentoring of social workers on all assessments and documentation in addition to mentoring of Recovery Planning Teams. Will evaluate quality of mall groups facilitated by social workers.


Licensure in the area of assignment And Three years of experience in the provision of therapeutic services with at least one year in a supervisory role OR Master's degree from an accredited program And Three years experience at the lower level or position equivalent (HCP052)

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the entry qualification listed above, preference will be given to candidates who are Licensed in the State of Georgia as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Must have supervisory experience and good leadership and people skills. Knowledge of Joint Commission and CMS standards as well as NASW practice standards. Knowledge of community services. Experience in Mental Health (AMH and Forensic), conducting psychosocial assessments, Individualized Recovery Planning and discharge planning.
