Behavior Specialist - Forensic Treatment Team
Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Behavior Specialist with the Forensic Treatment Team.
This position will serve as a counselor and psychologist's assistant primarily on Forensic Unit, and will provide counseling services on other units as well as facilitate at least one group in the Treatment Mall. As a counselor, this position will provide individual and small group therapy (anxiety, depression, psychoeducation on illness, relaxation and coping, trauma, etc.). As a psychologist's assistant on a forensic unit, under supervision of licensed psychologist, this position will be responsible for completion of risk assessments, Integrated Psychological Assessments (annual and initial), and other forensic and psychological specific testing as needed.
Bachelors degree in related field AND Two years of related experience OR Masters degree in a related field
Master's degree in counseling, clinical or counseling psychology, or other related field. Licensed as an LAPC or LPC, or License-eligible in the state of Georgia. Experience in development of behavior management programs including knowledge of operant and classical conditioning; experience in group therapy using cognitive behavioral approaches; treatment of sex offenders and/or experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy suggested but not required. Working knowledge of the criminal justice system.
