The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Medical Records Clerk (Hourly) at Georgia Regional Hospital At Savannah (please visit www.garegionalsavannah.com for more information about the hospital).This position is an hourly position in our Health Information Management Department. Hourly positions work an average of 29 hours a week and do not receive benefits.

Job Description:

This position will assist the clinician and the HIM Department by ensuring compliance with DOJ, The Joint Commission and CMS with timeframes for documentation, chart completion and coding. Will also assist clinicians and work closely with them to do chart reviews at the point of care and be able to obtain reports and other information that are missing from the charts in a timely manner. Will also be knowledgeable enough to review the physician orders and ensure that patients that are sent out for procedures/consultations have a filed report in the charts from those visits. Will analyze medical charts and identify deficiencies and ensure all forms are complete.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in related field

Preferred Qualifications

Associate Degree in Health Information Technology and at least one year working as a medical record analyst in a hospital.

Benefits

$10.61 / hour. This is an hourly position with no benefits associated.
