Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Unit Clerk with the Health Information Management (HIM) Department. This position will work between the Acute Care Unit and the HIM Department and report to the HIM Director. This position will work the 1:00pm - 9:30pm shift.
This position will provide support to the Health Information Management Department by maintaining charts and records on the Acute Care Unit. Will file forms accurately and in a timely manner. Will assist in tracking orders and will preserve confidentiality of the records. Will offer support to the treatment teams and be responsible for data entry and sending information to community resources for continuity of care. Will process charts to be sent to Health Information Management Department.
High school diploma or GED and one year of related experience OR One year of vocational/ technical school or college education OR One year at the lower level or at an equivalent position
Associate's degree in Health Information Technology OR at least one year working in a Health Information Management department OR experience working with patient charts as it relates to Health Information Management and medical records
