Registered Nurse - Provider Medical Reviewer Specialist
The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), Division of Developmental Disabilities (DD) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Registered Nurse - Provider Medical Reviewer Specialist for the Provider Performance Unit.
Under limited supervision, plans, organizes, directs and participates in conducting quality and special reviews of community-based human service delivery programs under contract or letter of agreement with DBHDD. In addition, review DD crisis programs in accordance with Operational and Clinical Standards for Georgia Crisis Response System (GCRS-DD). Responsible for the development and revision of the Community Service Standards for All DD Providers and Operational and Clinical Standards for Georgia Crisis Response System. Serves as liaison to the Healthcare Facility Regulation Division, Department of Community Health and DBHDD Regional Offices. Provide technical assistance to providers based on quality reviews. Serves as a subject matter expert or organization resource and makes recommendations on programmatic and/or operational changes based on reviews. Ability to assess individual medical needs, safety and protection with particular focus on medical issues and medications. Review and evaluate risk management of medical issues to determine viable solutions to maintain the health and safety of the individuals supported.
Note: Extensive statewide travel is routinely required for this position.

A current, unrestricted Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse.
One year of professional-level experience in a role which included evaluating DD individuals and their services. Experience in total quality management of services provided to individuals.
Note: Experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis, if evaluated as equivalent
Preference will be given to candidates, who in addition to meeting the qualifications listed above, possess the following:
- A current, unrestricted Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Experience conducting and evaluating individual services in DBHDD setting (especially in a Developmental Disability setting).
- At least two years supervisory experience of staff who provide direct care to individuals is strongly preferred.
- Professional experience in a physical health facility or community-based setting, such as a physician's office, medical or surgical care facility, public health clinic/program or a crisis stabilization unit.
- Proficient in computer skills.
Note: Possession of a current Georgia driver's license and use of a car at work are required for employees in this job.
