The Georgia department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Housekeeping Director at Georgia Regional Hospital at Savannah (please visit www.garegionalsavannah.com for more information about the hospital).
Job Responsibilities & Performance:
Directs the planning, development, scheduling and implementation of various and specialized environmental services provided to the hospital. Establishes appropriate objectives and priorities for the department in support of overall hospital goals; communicates objectives and priorities to employees; updates objectives as business needs change. (Performed by all incumbents). Creates and maintains a high performance environment characterized by positive leadership and a strong team orientation. Participates as a member of the hospital management team in order to coordinate and integrate the efforts of the department with the rest of the hospital. Develops and administers program budgets which ensure continuity and quality of services for the department. Develops and presents in-service and other educational programs. Develops Environmental Service policies that support overall hospital objectives and ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal laws. Reviews JCAHO, Federal, State, and other regulatory agency information for assigned area to direct the Quality Improvement activities of the department. Maintains professional behavior when completing tasks and interacting with others as a team member. Readily accepts special projects. Maintains professional knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature and attending related seminars, conferences and the like. Develops Environmental Service policies that support overall hospital objectives and ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal laws. Develops and administers program budgets which ensure continuity and quality of services for the department.
One year of experience at the level of a supervisor in the area of assignment OR One year of experience at the lower level or position equivalent (FES042)
Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity in an institutional housekeeping or similar program, which involved coordination of housekeeping with other institutional support services, and required some responsibility for purchasing, warehousing/supplies, performance management, and other functions related to housekeeping management. Strong writing and verbal communications skills.
