The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking qualified candidates for Psychiatrist at Southwestern State Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia

In conjunction with a comprehensive treatment team, the Psychiatrist addresses the clinical needs of Adult Mental Health and Forensics, utilizing comprehensive care plans including behavioral support and pharmacotherapy.  Under broad supervision, provides comprehensive medical services by examining patients, diagnosing conditions and providing treatments.

Graduation from a medical school recognized by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners.

Completion of an approved ACGME psychiatric residency program

Licensure to practice medicine at a state institution or in the state of Georgia as provided by state law

·          Certification by the American board of Psychiatry and Neurology

·          Experience treating persons with serious and persistent mental illnesses, and in providing care as leader and member of interdisciplinary treatment team

·          Experience working with individuals in a public psychiatric hospital
