The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) serves people of all ages who have mental retardation or related developmental disabilities; alcohol or other drug addictions; the most severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia and bi-polar disorder, or children and teens with severe emotional disturbance.
The main office for DBHDD is located in downtown Atlanta. The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) has regional offices throughout the state, including six regional hospitals.
